What Lenexa residents should know
AdventHealth Lenexa City Center opened on July 15, 2025, at 16950 W 86th St with a 24/7 emergency room. Before that, Lenexa residents went to Overland Park Regional Medical Center on Quivira Road, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in Merriam or Saint Luke's South Hospital on Metcalf Avenue. Your doctors may still practice at those hospitals.
A new hospital raises a fair question: is it in your plan? Medicare Advantage networks are built plan by plan, and a hospital that just opened may sit in some networks and not others. Check AdventHealth Lenexa City Center by name in next year's directory, along with Overland Park Regional, which belongs to HCA Midwest Health. A Medicare Supplement skips that check. Plan G or Plan N works with any provider who accepts Medicare, and you pair it with a Part D plan that lists your drugs.
Veterans in Lenexa have the Lenexa VA Clinic at 15512 W 113th St, the largest community clinic in the Kansas City VA system. VA care and Medicare are separate programs that do not bill each other. Many veterans keep Part B so they can see community doctors too. Bring your VA details to a review and we will show how each plan type fits.
The Old Town Activity Center at 9301 Pflumm Rd serves weekday senior hot meals (913-477-7100). For rides, the RideKC reduced fare is $1 for adults 65+ and Medicare card holders since fares returned on June 1, 2026. Call 913-362-3500 for RideKC Freedom paratransit or RideJoCo Microtransit, or 913-715-8900 for Catch-a-Ride. SHICK gives free Medicare counseling at 1-800-860-5260.
Ready for a second look? We run free plan reviews by phone for Lenexa residents, checking your doctors, prescriptions and budget against the plans we offer. Annual Enrollment runs October 15 to December 7.
